Timely action: Two alleged robbers killed in separate encounters

A resident was also injured in the encounter in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, said the police.

Two alleged robbers were killed in separate encounters with the police on Saturday.


The first encounter took place in Gulistan-e-Jauhar where a gang of robbers were attempting to rob houses in an enclosed compound. Residents alerted the police and when the law enforcers reached the site, they reportedly came under attack by the robbers who resorted to indiscriminate firing. In the retaliatory fire by the police, one of the robbers was killed on the spot while his companions managed to escape.

Meanwhile, the police impounded the robbers’ vehicle and are investigating the case to apprehend the escaped robbers. Police officials told The Express Tribune that a resident of the area, Kamran, was also wounded in the firing by the robbers, but his condition was stable.

Separately, an alleged robber was killed and his companion was arrested during an encounter with the police in Block 3, Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Police officials said that the encounter occurred when the culprits were trying to flee after robbing a house. They added that one of the robbers was killed by the police while two of his companions managed to escape. Meanwhile, the police managed to recover the stolen goods from the robbers’ possession.
