Desperate times: Gilani seeks Samiul Haq's help in recovering abducted son

OKARA: Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani met with Jamiat Ulema Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq on Saturday over the recovery of his abducted son, Express News reported.

Gilani's youngest son was abducted in broad daylight from Multan just days before the general elections in May. He has been missing ever since.

The former premier called on the man who has been dubbed as the "father of the Taliban", in Okara Khattak on Saturday.

Gilani sought the veteran politican's help to recover his son, to which Haq assured his full support and vowed to use his influence to help recover.

Ali Haider Gilani, was kidnapped after an attack on a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) gathering in Multan on May 8, 2013.

Unidentified gunmen came in two cars and opened fire at the political gathering taking place in Farrukh Town which lies in the PP-200 constituency. Ali Haider was contesting on the PP-200 seat against Shaukat Bosan of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).

@Babloo: Rumors were that Shabaz has been recovered and his abductors nabbed. Their trial is nowadays taking place in Kot Lakhpat jail.
