SCBA Housing Society: CJ wants complex closer to capital

The case was heard by a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.

ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Friday directed the attorney general to resolve the construction of a complex for the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and establishment of a housing society for Supreme Court lawyers and adjourned the case till September 10. The case was heard by a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. During the proceedings, SCBA member Raja Zulqarnain said the departments were not cooperating in establishing the complex and housing society. Deputy Attorney General Shah Khawar said that the finance ministry had assured to release the funds shortly. However, he stated that the Capital Development Authority had approved the housing society near Bhara Kahu. The CJ remarked that it should not be in a far-flung area and asked officials to find a nearby place.
