A loud explosion was heard near a religious building in the thickly populated area of Rizvia, Nazimabad in Karachi, reported Express News.
The cause, nature and exact location of the explosion have yet to be ascertained, though it is reported that the noise reverberated across a large area.
The police have refused to make any official statement about the incident, and are still attempting to locate the site of the incident.
Rescue teams have been dispatched to the area.
