
Boys outshined girls in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Part II that was announced by Karakoram International University on Wednesday.
The success rate of students from private institutes was 60 per cent and government colleges at 44.8 per cent.
The passing rates for Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ganchay and Astore were 51, 37, 36, 24 and 39 per cent respectively.
A total of 10,025 students appeared in the examination and 424 passed.
Shoaib Khan from Hunza Leaders College, Aliabad received first position, secured 883 marks out of 1,100 in the commerce group while Zeeshan Karim of the same group and college received 845 marks.
Ghulam Qadir of Federal Government Boys Degree College, Gilgit secured 835 marks in the engineering group and took first position while Ali Muhammad of Global Higher Secondary School, Danyor secured 2nd position with 800 marks.
