Just over a month after a daring raid on the central prison in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), at least two explosions took place near Kutcheri road in the city on Wednesday evening, Express News reported.

Senior police official DPO Dera Nisar Ahmed said that the first explosion was caused by a hand grenade hurled towards the finance department building. The other bomb had been planted next to the gate of the mosque on Kutchery road.

No damage to life or property occurred as a result of the blast.

Following the explosions, police surrounded the area and launched a search operation. The search yielded two additional planted bombs. One was found in a tin box and the other in a bucket. Bomb disposal squad has been called in to defuse the two explosive devices.

Taliban, in a daring raid, had attacked and freed close to 250 of their companions held at the central jail in DI Khan on July 29, 2013.
