President Zardari said that smooth and peaceful transition of power from one democratic government to another reflects that democracy has gradually taken root in the country.
The president said that it was the policy of reconciliation, which strengthened democracy and made possible a smooth transfer of power from one elected government to other in a smooth and democratic way. He said that all our efforts should be geared towards strengthening democracy.

President Zardari said that smooth and peaceful transition of power from one democratic government to another reflects that democracy has gradually taken root in the country.
He called upon all the political forces to work together towards further strengthening democracy and democratic institutions. The president was speaking to a group of former and incumbent parliamentarians from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan who had separately called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
The participants appreciated his efforts for adopting a policy of reconciliation. The delegations thanked the president for working to ensure an end to the sense of deprivation in the peoples of K-P and Balochistan provinces.
