Militant Ambush: One constable dead, another injured

A police constable was killed and another injured when unidentified militants opened fire at them in Mardan on Thursday.
Constables Zubair and Ayaz were patrolling on foot in Khwaja Gunj when two militants ambushed them, said Hoti police official Shakirullah. Constable Zubair succumbed to his injuries en route to Mardan Medical Complex, while constable Ayaz was referred to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar after being administered first aid. “Both militants escaped under the cover of darkness,” said Shakirullah.
