‘High Treason’: JI protests against Shakeel Afridi’s retrial

The senior leadership of JI Peshawar chapter along with 50 activists protested outside the Peshawar Press Club.

PESHAWAR:
The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Friday held a protest against the decision of Commissioner Frontier Crimes Regulation for overturning the sentence of Dr Shakeel Afridi and threatened to take their protest countrywide if the government tries to release him.


The senior leadership of JI Peshawar chapter along with 50 activists protested outside the Peshawar Press Club and chanted anti-US slogans, demanding the government to charge Afridi with high treason. JI activists accused Afridi of conspiring against the country by carrying out a fake polio campaign with the help of the CIA.
