KARACHI:
Sindh police received a list on Thursday naming workers of Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) who are to be arrested.

According to a statement issued by MQM, it includes arrest orders for MNA Farooq Sattar, Opposition leader Sindh Assembly Faisal Sabzwari, Adnan Ahmad and Ashfaq Mangi amongst others.

Aside from a list of names, the document contained the names of political parties the respective workers are associated with, their designation or post at the party and their addresses.

The list was submitted by intelligence agencies to the Sindh government, who later forwarded it to the federal government, after which it was handed over to Supreme Court. The police were then notified to arrest the named workers.

Other parties whose workers are named in the list include Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST) and Kutchi Rabta Committee (KRC).

Earlier in the day, members of MQM walked out of the National Assembly session to mark a protest over the arrest of several MQM workers on Wednesday night.

The MQM claimed that police was conducting several raids to arrest their workers and was subjecting them to torture in police custody.
