KARACHI: A khateeb of a Karachi mosque was shot dead inside his office on Thursday, Express News reported.

Two unidentified armed men entered Maulana Nadeem Ahmed Farooqi’s office – located inside the Rehmani Mosque in the Jamshed Quarters area – and shot him thrice.

Farooqi was immediately taken to a hospital, however he succumbed to his wounds on the way.

The attackers managed to flee the scene after the incident.

The khateeb has left behind a wife and seven children.

Farooqi had been living in the area for around 40 years.

I strongly condemn all types of killings going around in the city, particularly killings on the basis of religious affiliation. Whether we are Shia or Sunni none of the sect teaches such kind of brutal conduct against anyone.

You all are requested to reject and disapprove the favor of any particular sect rather partake to re-unit the muslim ummah regardless of any differences.

@Qanoon MWM and PST are not banned organizations. And when those outfits that are actually banned can operate freely, why to waste time in discussing those that are not banned.
