Two-day forum to bring together world’s top academics

Over 200 VCs, university presidents from Muslim countries to attend meet in federal capital.

ISLAMABAD:


Academics and heads of higher education institutes of the Muslim world will converge to Islamabad to discuss challenges and opportunities in higher educational institutes of the Muslim world.


They will discuss issues relating to education at a two-day forum on ‘Universities in the Islamic World: Challenges of Internationalisation’ being hosted by the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology on September 23 and 24.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in this regard between Express Media Group and COMSATS Institute of Information Technology on Tuesday for publicity and promotion of the event.


The event organized in collaboration with Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) is expected to be attended by more than 200 vice chancellors, rectors and university presidents from various institutes of the OIC member states.

The forum aims to provide senior academics from the Muslim countries with a platform for strengthening cooperation and encouragement of dialogue between their institutes.

Being one of the biggest forums in the education sector of the Islamic countries it will provide an opportunity to the leadership of the higher education institutes to benefit from each others’ experiences.
