Lb Elections: SC directs provinces to submit report

The Supreme Court has asked for reports on local bodies elections in all provinces including, Balochistan and set a two-week deadline to all provinces to ensure conduct of LG elections, here on Monday.

The three-member bench inquired the Additional Advocate Generals (AAG) of the all four provinces regarding the conduct of local bodies elections, upon which Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa’s AAG informed the court that K-P province has completed all the preparations regarding the conduct of the local bodies elections.
On the other hand, the Sindh AAG said that amendments would be given final shape on Monday during the session of provincial assembly regarding the local body elections.
Punjab AAG’s informed the court that the recommendation have been formalised, whereas Balochistan AAG informed the govt would take a stance over the LG elections in the assembly session.
