PTDC Figures: Tourism receipts grow despite terrorism
The official told Radio Pakistan that for some popular destinations, transport facility was available to tourists.
An official of Pakistan Tourism Development Authority (PTDC) has said that around 906,818 tourists visited during 2010 while 966,277 tourists visited the country various areas during 2011.
The official told Radio Pakistan that for some popular destinations, transport facility was available to tourists on a commercial basis by tour operators.
He said that according to the 18th Amendment, the tourism ministry had been devolved to the provincial governments and that assets of PTDC would be handed over to provincial governments soon.
He said that out of total foreign tourists, four per cent originated from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
