MUMBAI:
Designer Amit Aggarwal's line at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) winter/festive 2013 Sunday showcased garments like gowns and saris depicting a mix of strength as well as fragility.
The line had a mix of gowns, saris, long skirts and flowy jackets in colours like black, maroon and navy blue. The fabrics included tulle, velvet, and georgette adorned with hand cut metallic strips.
"I wanted to juxtapose fragility with strength through my collection here. I have used a lot of drapery which has been inspired by the Indian sari. This is my take on what Indian couture could be," Aggarwal told reporters here after the show.
The five-day Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) winter/festive 2013 opened August 23.
