MUMBAI:

Anil Kapoor has made his mark in not only Bollywood with classics such as Mr. India, but also in Hollywood with Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. In his 30-year-long career, Anil has become a household name, with successes in various genres of film. He is now set to make his debut as a TV actor and producer on the Indian show 24, an adaptation of the American crime/suspense series with the same name.

“We all are hopeful, fingers crossed, and the audience shall decide once it comes on TV. If you think I am nervous, then no, I am not nervous at all. In my career, whenever I have done something out-of-the-box, I have never been nervous,” the 56-year-old said on Thursday, at the promo launch of the show.

He did reveal however, that it is the regular stuff that makes him nervous. “But whenever I did something very regular and mainstream, I got nervous because I felt that something will go wrong there. So that’s the way I have been,” he said.

The show is being directed by Abhinay Deo and goes on air on Colors TV this October. The first season will have 24 episodes. Mandira Bedi and Tisca Chopra will join Anil in the cast, while Anupam Kher, Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani will make cameo appearances.
