HARARE:
Pakistan held Zimbabwe to 160 for six off their 20 overs in the second Twenty20 match in Harare on Saturday to clinch the two match series 2-0.

Responding to Pakistan's target of 180 runs, Zimbabwe got off to a slow but good start with Vusi Sibanda and Hamilton Masakadza steadily taking the team to 50 runs. But after Sibanda fell in the seventh over, Zimbabwe quickly lost captain Brendan Taylor with the score just 57.

Despite the setback, Sean Williams and Elton Chigumbura though managed to revive the Zimbabwean innings. But Chigumbura, who scored 35, could never get enough runs quick enough to give Zimbabwe a good chance of winning the match.

For Pakistan, captain Mohammad Hafeez was the pick of the bowlers by claiming three scalps from his four overs, despite conceding 30 runs. Zulfiqar Babar too chipped in with two wickets from his four overs, conceding just 21 runs. Anwar Ali also picked up a wicket.

Pakistan Cricket Board interim chairman also commended the team on their performance.

Earlier, Pakistan gave Zimbabwe a target of 180 runs to win the second Twenty20, being played at Harare, Express News reported.

Opener Ahmed Shehzad faced the last ball and managed to score his best of 98 runs, lifting Pakistan’s score to 179 runs.

Zimbabwe had won the toss and decided to bowl first against Pakistan in the second Twenty20 match.

The greens decided to rest Mohammad Irfan and Saeed Ajmal in this match while Asad Ali and Zulfiqar Babar were the new placements.

Pakistan won by 25 runs in the first T20 international on August 23.
