Respect the speed gun: Motorway Police to issue heavy fines
Only vehicles with tyres in good condition will be allowed on the motorway.
ATTOCK:
National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Wisal Fakhar Sultan ordered officers on Thursday to impose heavy fines on violators. At gatherings attended mostly by NHMP officials in Burhan and Rashakai, the DIG directed them to improve the image of the force by providing instant help to the commuters in distress. Sultan instructed the beat commanders to control lane violations, speeding, use of mobile phones while driving and overloaded passenger service vehicles. “Issue heavy fines to those who intentionally ignore traffic laws,” he said. As burst tyres are the leading cause of accidents during the summers, it was decided that only vehicles with tyres in good condition will be allowed on the motorway.
