Int’l math conference: Minister stresses need to focus on research
Dastagir assured his full support for the promotion of education, science and technology in the country.
ISLAMABAD:
Students, mathematicians and academia should focus on research in all branches of mathematics.
This was stated by Minister of State for Privatisation Khurram Dastgir Khan during the inaugural session of the “14th International Pure Mathematics Conference 2013”, organised by the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) in collaboration with the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), the Pakistan Mathematical Society and Preston University.
He assured his full support for the promotion of education, science and technology in the country.
Acknowledging the importance of the discipline, the minister said that mathematics was playing a significant role in technology development all over the world.
