Legal workforce: K-P appoints additional advocate generals
To serve in PHC and its other benches in the district.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has appointed 10 additional advocate generals and eight deputy advocate generals in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and its other benches in various districts of the province.
The additional advocate generals are Waqar Ahmad, Syed Qaiser Ali Shah, Naveed Akhtar and Rab Nawaz Khan for Peshawar; Zahid Yousaf Qureshi for the Supreme Court; Saifur Rehman for Bannu; Sanaullah Shamim for Dera Ismail Khan; Muhammad Naeem Abbasi for Abbottabad; Muhammad Jawaid Khan for Darul Qaza, Swat benches; and Adeel Butt for Service Tribunal Peshawar, said a notification issued from the Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Department on Friday.
Those appointed as deputy advocate generals are Arshad Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Riaz Paindakhel and Muhammad Sohail for Peshawar; Qudratullah for Bannu; Muhammad Haroon Awan for Dera Ismail Khan; Raja Muhammad Zubair for Abbottabad; Rafiq Ahmad for Darul Qaza, Swat; and Raheemullah for Chitral benches.
“They shall not be allowed private practice or legal advisership of any kind and shall not be paid any fee for the opinion work of the provincial government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as may from time to time be assigned to them by the law department,” read the notification. It added their appointment is liable to be terminated at any time without prior reason or notice.
Through another notification, the government appointed Advocate Saadullah Khan Jandoli in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan as Advocate-on-Record to appear as such in the SC on behalf of the provincial government. The seat was vacated upon the termination of Mian Shaukat Hussain.
“He shall serve on contract basis for a period of three years from the date of his assumption of charge. On completion of his tenure, the officer would automatically stand relieved of his duties, unless the period of his contractual appointment is otherwise extended by the government,” read the notification.
