The victims, Gulzar, Rab Nawaz, Abdul Razzaq and Mujahid, had come to village Rehm Hussain Jagirani on a tractor trolley to load hay bales when they were killed. They were residents of Garhi Mori in Khairpur district.
The bodies were lying in the fields for at least four hours as the Khairpur and Kandhra police fought over jurisdiction. It was only when they decided that the fields were within the jurisdiction of Kandhra police station that the bodies were taken to Taluka Hospital, Rohri, for legal formalities. The police have yet to register the case.
According to Kandhra police, the murder was a result of an old enmity between the Jatoi and Jagirani tribes. The clashes began three years ago when Mir Jatoi was killed during a robbery on the highway. So far, more than 12 people from the both families have lost their lives, the police added.
