Environmentalism: KU holds conference on aquaculture
The conference highlighted the importance of Aquaculture and Fisheries Development.

An annual conference of Pakistan Agriculture and Fisheries Society on ‘Aquaculture and Fisheries Development: Opportunities and Challenges’ was organised by Karachi University Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (KU-ORIC) at the National Institute of Oceanography in collaboration with the US department of agriculture foreign agriculture service, federation of chambers of commerce and industry, fisheries development board.

Coastal area developers, individuals from the public and private, academic and research institutions attended the two-day conference.
The conference highlighted that Pakistan is one of the most populated countries, thus the sector is very important for creating jobs. KU-ORIC’s director Prof Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi, WWF- Marine Fisheries, Mohammad Moazzam Khan, University of Idaho and Prof Dr Gleyn Bledsoe spoke on the occasion.
