Khyber Agency: Khasadar official killed in Jamrud
Unidentified gunmen opened fire at a check post in Shakas.

A khasadar official was killed and another severely injured when unidentified militants opened fire at them in Shakas area of Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency on Sunday.
Farhad, who is the spokesperson for the political administration in Jamrud, said the incident occurred at around 9:15am when deceased official Wahid Khan along with Saleem Katia Khel were on duty at a check post in Shakas. Suspected militants, with their faces covered by masks, came on a motorbike and opened fire on the officials. After hearing the sound of gunfire, other khasadar officials deployed nearby rushed to the spot, but the motorcyclists managed to escape in the narrow streets that lead to the mountains.
Farhad said the injured were taken to the Hayatabad Medical Complex where Khel succumbed to his injuries. Khan was shifted to the intensive care unit due to his critical condition.
A search operation was launched in the area, but no one was arrested till this report was filed.
