The Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company (FESCO) has detected 22 cases of electricity theft in one week.


FESCO spokesman Tahir Sheikh told newsmen on Saturday that a task force had raided various suspect premises in Hajiabad, Sarwar Shaheed, Tariqabad, Millat Town, Sargodha Road, Lahore-Jaranwala, Factory Area, Jhang Saddar, City Jhang, Satellite Town and Khewa.

They found 22 cases of electricity being stolen from a FESCO distribution line.

Complaints have been registered against Muhammad Ameerullah of New Green Town, Hasnain of Noorul Ameen Colony, Muhammad Haneef of Sheraz Park, Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Shareef of Factory Area, Muhammad Nawaz of Mullanpur, Shahadat Khan of Jaranwala Road, Razia Bibi of Abbas Park, Muhammad Siddique of Chak50, Sakina Bibi of Islamia Park, Allah Ditta and Arshad Khan of Chak 653, Muhammad Mansha and Hasan Khan of Chak644GB, Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Riaz, Sultan Virk, Safdar Saleem and Roshan Din of Satellite Town, Manzoor Hussain of Khewa, Zafar of City Jhang and Saleem Akhtar of Jhang Saddar.


The spokesman said FESCO had teams removed the meters and issued them bills.

Six FESCO employees were suspended over negligence

FESCO CEO Rana Abudul Jabbar Khan has suspended 6 employees, including a sub-divisional officer, over negligence and ordered an inquiry.

FESCO spokesman Tahir Sheikh said SDO Naveedur Rehman of Garden Colony, meter reading supervisor Khadim Hussain, Line Superintendent Muhammad Rizwan and meter reader Ijaz Haider were suspended.

Clerks in charge of telephone complaints were suspended after their performance was found unsatisfactory.
