BDS defuses bomb near Pervez Khattak's residence

A homemade bomb placed in a hot pot had been placed near the chief minister’s residence in Hayatabad.

A bomb disposal squad has defused a bomb placed near Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Pervez Khattak residence in Peshawar, Express News reported.

According to bomb disposal officials, a 200 gram homemade bomb placed in a hot pot had been placed by unidentified persons near the chief minister’s residence in Hayatabad, after which the bomb disposal squad had been immediately called to the scene.


Eye witnesses told police that men on two motorcycles drove past the area and had placed the bomb on a side road, after which the police immediately called the bomb disposal squad.

Police officials also arrived at the scene along with the disposal squad. Before defusing the bomb, the bomb disposal squad had the area cleared.

The bomb had been made from several materials that included ball bearings, the squad said. No time device, however, was found attached to the bomb.
