The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated an inquiry against the officers of Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak-PWD) for alleged corruption of Rs160.403 million.
The inquiry has been initiated on the basis of the departmental report of Director General (DG) Pak-PWD, who had highlighted embezzlement and corruption in 16 development schemes.
According to the FIA officials, the officials concerned of the Pak-PWD have caused huge loss to the government exchequer through these schemes. In these developmental schemes work was not done on sites but fudge payment had been made to contractors.
