Free will marriage: Man mutilated ‘by brother-in-law’

Police says they are looking for the suspect.

BAHAWALPUR:
A man’s nose was cut off on Thursday allegedly by his wife’s brother for marrying of his free will. He was taken to a hospital, where he was reported to be out of danger. Police said Faiz Bakhsh, a resident of Moza Tibbi Sayedan, said that he had married Muhammad Asghar’s sister a few months ago in a court. He said Asghar had been threatening him with death since then. He said he entered his house on Thursday and attacked him with a butcher’s cleaver. He then fled. Bakhsh was taken to a hospital, where doctors said he would require a reconstruction surgery. Police said they were looking for the suspect.
