Political leaders in Lahore on Wednesday paid tribute to the heroes of the Pakistan Movement.


In a message to the nation, former prime minister Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis Elahi said that Pakistan needed to revive the spirit of 1947.

The Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid leaders said that Pakistanis must overcome their prejudices to transform Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state.


They lauded the role of the Pakistan Army and the security forces in maintaining internal security and defending the borders.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders visited Iqbal’s mausoleum and held a cake-cutting ceremony. Moreover, they organised a walk at the Liberty Market.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary and General Secretary Yasmin Rashid cut a cake with party workers. They said that the country was facing many challenges.

The rally was organised at the Liberty market was led by National Assembly Member Shafqat  Mehmood.
