Accidents: Eight killed in different parts of Haripur
The marriage was not accepted by the family as Bibi was a widow.
HARIPUR:
At least eight people, including six women, were killed in different incidents in various parts of Haripur district on Wednesday.
Five members of a family including a man, his wife and their two daughters were killed in a road accident. According to police and eyewitnesses, Fazalullah, 41, a resident of Baffa was on the way back to Wah Cantonment area in his car with his two daughters, two sons and a niece when a Mansehra-bound passenger coach rammed into their car near Mohra Kalawan on GT Road, killing Fazalullah, his wife Jameela Khatoon, daughters Samia Bibi and Hafifa Bibi.
Fazal’s niece Sumaira Bibi, sons Jarullah and Lutfullah sustained multiple injuries. The injured were shifted to Women and Children Hospital, where Sumaira succumbed to her injuries. The same day a couple was shot dead in the name of honour in village Bandi Seehran, according to the police. Zahir Khan was quoted saying his son Taza Gul who was already married, solemnised marriage with Zainab Bibi about one-and-half year ago and the couple had a six-month-old daughter. The marriage was not accepted by the family as Bibi was a widow and had two minor children from her late husband. Meanwhile, a teenage girl committed suicide in Khalabat Township by shooting herself after she had an argument with her mother.
