ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan wants a strong strategic partnership with Turkey, especially for bringing a qualitative and quantitative change in economic and commercial relations.

This was stated by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Muhammad Haroon Shaukat on Wednesday at a function held at the Pakistan Embassy in Ankara, Turkey to celebrate Pakistan’s 67th Independence Day.

The envoy unfurled the national flag to the tune of the national anthem in the presence of the Pakistani community and embassy officials. He read out the messages of the president and the prime minister on the occasion.

Ambassador Shaukat briefed the Pakistani community about recent developments in Pakistan-Turkey relations. “Mutual and abiding goodwill between the two countries and success of recent projects such as the metro bus service and solid waste management in Lahore, wind energy in Sindh and numerous reconstruction and rehabilitation projects in earthquake and flood affected areas provide a solid foundation to enhance cooperation with Turkey” he added.

He expressed hope that such success stories will motivate entrepreneurs of both countries to work together in diverse fields.
