Eidi money: SBP issues Rs139b worth of fresh notes in Ramazan

Fresh currency notes in denominations of Rs10 to Rs100 issued this year was almost double compared to last year.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and its Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC) issued fresh currency notes worth Rs138.76 billion to general public through SBP and BSC field offices, designated branches, express centres and commercial banks during the holy month of Ramazan.


According to a statement issued by the central bank, the number of fresh currency notes in denominations of Rs10 to Rs100 issued this year was almost double compared to last year.

The SBP and BSC fully utilized the large network of over 10,000 branches of commercial banks for distribution of fresh currency notes to the general public during the holy month of Ramazan.

The amount of fresh currency notes issued by the SBP and BSC had issued the previous year during the month of Ramazan was Rs 114.23 billion.

What a joke! The article is about new notes and the thousand notes shown in the image above are old ones! lol.
