Boosting trade : Businessmen urge focus on tourism
High Commissioner of Maldives said Maldives will continue supporting Pakistan and continue work on trade and tourism.
ISLAMABAD:
President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zafar Bakhtawari, while hosting a customary farewell dinner in honour of outgoing High Commissioner of Maldives, Dr Aishath Shehnaz Adam, said Pakistan should improve its tourism industry and suggested cooperating with Maldives on the issue.
Pakistan is the home of a diverse number of tourist attractions which include very beautiful landscapes, ancient civilizations like Indus Valley and Gandhara civilization as well as Buddha sculptures, said Bakhtawari, adding that frequent exchange of business delegations and establishing business to business contacts should be used to exploit untapped areas of trade and investment potential in both countries.
Dr Aishath Shehnaz Adam said that the Maldives will continue supporting Pakistan and looked forward to continuing work on trade and tourism in a personal capacity.
