TTP ready to hold talks with government if religious leaders involved

Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is ready to hold talks with the government but on certain conditions, said Taliban spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid while speaking to Express News.

Shahidullah Shahid said if the government gives a guarantee of putting forward ideal religious and intellectual leaders, the Taliban would be interested in holding talks.


For this purpose the spokesperson recommended the names of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) group Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Syed Munawar Hasan, Jamaat-e-Islami’s fourth elected Ameer.

The spokesperson also demanded for a fatwa to be given against killings of Muslims in Myanmar and Syria.
