ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Foreign Office expressed disappointment and said it will communicate with India on the matter of the Dosti Bus being stopped twice in one day by protesters in India, Express News reported on Saturday.

Spokesperson of the ministry, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said Pakistan is keen to resolve the issue and will hold talks related to the matter.

The Lahore bound bus, Dosti bus, which was on its way from New Delhi was stopped by protesters in Amritsar, and later arrived safely at its destination in Pakistan on Friday.

Protesters in New Delhi took to the streets to voice their anger over the murder of five Indian troops in an ambush near the Line of Control on Monday. The protesters blamed the attack on Pakistan, which has categorically denied any part in the incident and rejected the allegations at all levels.

Ultimately, Indian security forces arrived to clear the area and let the vehicle on its way.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called an emergency meeting with foreign ministry officials on Thursday, stressing that it is ‘imperative for both India and Pakistan to take effective steps to ensure and restore the ceasefire across the Line of Control’.

Expressing sadness after being briefed by the ministry officials over the recent exchange of fire across the LoC, the prime minister noted that the recent incidents have both set back the normalisation process between Pakistan and India and led to the loss of precious human lives.
