'Hilal-e-Imtiaz' awarded posthumously to Iqbal Haider
Haider had served as federal law minister and as co-chairman of the HRCP.

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday approved the posthumous award of 'Hilal-e-Imtiaz' to former federal law minister Syed Iqbal Haider who passed away at the age of 67 in November last year, Radio Pakistan reported.
Haider had also served as co-chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and was considered to be a staunch advocate of human rights.
He was affiliated with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and had at one point served as an attorney general.
It was reported that he was suffering from lung disease and had breathed his last at a hospital in Karachi on November 11, 2012.
