COLOMBO:
Habib University hosted a two-day international workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on July 30. The Habib University curriculum design workshop was held with an aim to develop world-class and contextualised curricula for its liberal arts programme with the support of leading academics from the United States, Canada, the Middle East and India. The workshop was chaired by Habib University president Wasif Rizvi. Faculty members from nine universities from around the world actively participated in the workshop. The focus of the discussions was around the development of contextualised curricula to ensure a holistic educational environment inspiring students to excel in their chosen fields of study. “The varied experiences of the participants assisted us to learn from global practices and benefit from a range of teaching methods,” said Rizvi. “This is one of many workshops that will be held to establish global academic networks.” The workshop ended with a farewell dinner.
