Eid holidays: Govt hospitals put on high alert
The Health Department has instructed the heads of these institutions to prepare an emergency duty roster.

The Health Department has directed all government hospitals, autonomous medical institutions, rural health centres and basic health units to remain on high alert during the Eid holidays. The Health Department has instructed the heads of these institutions to prepare an emergency duty roster and an emergency crisis management plan to ensure that doctors, nurses and paramedics are on duty in the holidays. They have also been told to arrange for additional beds and make sure they have sufficient quantities of medicine, vaccines, blood and other supplies. Government hospitals have been directed to ensure that all machines, lifts and generators are in working order and that operation theatres and ambulances are fully equipped.
