Rs3.2 million missing after bank robbery

After the killing of five robbers and an SHO in Mansehra and Abbottabad, police is yet to identity the accused and recover Rs3.2 million.


Six robbers barged into the United Bank Limited, Shinkiari Road branch on Friday, held the staff at gunpoint and stole Rs10 million. SHO Mubarak Khan and two robbers were killed in the shoot-out
that ensued.

Three more robbers were gunned down while they were trying to escape in a cab. The incident also left ASP Abbottabad Hassnain Haider injured.



The Abbottabad police claimed they have recovered most of the money save Rs3.2 million.

Police said although the CCTV footage showed six people entering the bank, two or three more must have been waiting outside.

One of the deceased robbers was identified as Yasir, hailing from Mangal Mansehra village. His body was handed over to his family for burial while the rest were buried by the police after their DNA samples were collected.
