Ajmal falls to 5th spot, Jadeja claims top rank
Hafeez, Misbah demoted in latest ICC ODI rankings.
KARACHI:
Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal dropped one place to fifth position in the latest ICC One-Day International (ODI) Rankings for bowlers, as India’s Ravindra Jadeja shared the top spot with West Indies’ Sunil Narine.
Ajmal dropped one spot while Jadeja leapfrogged four to become only the fourth Indian bowler to top the ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings after Kapil Dev (March 1989), Maninder Singh (December 1987-November 1988) and Anil Kumble (December 1996).
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez consolidated his eighth position to remain the other Pakistan bowler inside the top ten rankings. However, he slipped two places to fifth in the all-rounders’ ranking, while Shahid Afridi made a comeback by taking the seventh spot.
Pakistan ODI captain Misbahul Haq also dropped one place in the latest batsmen’s rankings, but managed to stay within the top ten, occupying the eighth position. Umar Akmal was ranked 13th.
