At the mosque: Prayer leader thrown acid at
The upper part of the victim's body is injured and he is in critical condition, says doctors.
BAHAWALPUR:
Two unidentified men on Sunday threw acid at a prayer leader in Mubarikpur. He was taken to the rural health centre, from where he was sent to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Doctors treating him said that the upper part of his body was injured and that he was in critical condition. Nowshera police have registered a case against the unidentified assailants. They said Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Gidarhati, was about to give the call for prayers, when two men approached him and said that they wanted to talk about something very important. They took him to a corner, threw acid at him from a jar they were carrying and fled. Nowshera Station House Officer Arshad Warraich said police were looking for the assailants.
