Roadside stalls in commercial markets of the city may be counting their days
ISLAMABAD:
Roadside stalls in commercial markets of the city may be counting their days the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch a crackdown on them.
Most of the stalls have been set up on sidewalks or on roads inside markets without prior permission from the civic agency.
The CDA’s directorate of municipal administration has issued notices to illegal stall owners in Aabpara, Melody, Supermarket and Jinnah Super.
Around 200 people have been issued notices to remove the stalls from
the markets, CDA officials said.
The stall owners have been given 48 hours to remove them. The DMA officials said that an operation will be launched to remove the stalls from the busy markets if the stall owners did not comply with the notices by the deadline.
Stall owners in Aabpara market complained that the civic agency was creating unnecessary hurdles for their business.
They said that the stalls have been erected only to cater to Eid shoppers.
