Irrigation Department officials have complained about the uncooperative attitude of the police over registering cases against water thieves.
Operation XEN of the Irrigation Department Ehsan Khan said on Saturday the department had sent 2,662 water theft complaints to the police in 3 months but only 11 cases had been registered. He said the Multan division had referred 469 complaints to the police but no case had been registered; Shujabad division had submitted 98 complaints and no case was registered; Tarimmu division lodged 233 complaints and the police registered only two cases; Sulemanki division had referred 425 but not a single case was registered.
