Emergency declared: Two die, one injured as floods rage towards Peshawar
Floods triggered by a heavy downpour have destroyed 60 houses, 15 shops, 6 bridges and covered Booni Road in Chitral.

Two people died and one injured by flash floods triggered by a heavy downpour in Chitral, Express News reported.
The rescue operation is underway in Peshawar and people safely brought back from the floods were shifted to hospitals, Express News reported.
Pakistan Army rescue teams successfully rescued 35 people in Peshawar.
Water flow in the Chitral river reached up to 50,000 cubic feet per second. The water current will reach Warsak Dam Peshawar at 10pm on Friday, PDMA officials said.
60 houses and 15 shops were completely washed away on Friday, while 120 houses were partially destroyed.
Heavy rain also damaged the Raishoon powerhouse and clean drinking water and power supply to the area were suspended. Six bridges and the Chitral Booni Road were also destroyed.
Earlier on August 1, eight houses, two mosques and two shops were damaged in the rains.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed National Disaster Management Authority to cooperate with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for providing relief to the flood-hit people in Chitral, Radio Pakistan reported.
Deputy Commissioner Sibi said a high alert has been issued to the local population in view of the flood situation.
The rain is expected to continue tomorrow in several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Balochistan
Rain in the province has flooded River Tali and River Nari, while Sibi-Tali road was damaged and the route was obstructed.
The MET department has forecast more rain in Naseerabad and Kalat division today, whereas people have been warned against possible overflowing of rivers in Bolan, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Sibi, Loralai, Barkhan, Musakhel, Jhal Magsi and Khuzdar.
Punjab, Islamabad, Sindh
People in Islamabad and parts of Punjab including Lahore and Faisalabad have experienced rain from time to time today. People in some parts of Karachi experienced mild showers.
In Lahore, water flooded many low-lying areas while multiple feeders tripped and interrupted power supply.
