'Honour’ crime: Woman’s body found from graveyard
Anjum Raza, a neighbor of Abdul Ghaffar, told the media that Bano Bibi had been pregnant.
FAISALABAD:
Tandlianwala police on Thursday discovered the body of a woman murdered allegedly by her husband in Chak 403 three days ago.
Police said they found the body in a graveyard. They said the deceased, Bano Bibi, was married to Abdul Ghaffar, a resident of Chak 403-GB, two years ago. Police said the couple did not get along and Bano Bibi had shifted to her parents’ house a few months ago.
Ghaffar had appealed to a panchayat which had decided that Bano be sent to live with her husband. Police said once her parents sent her back, her husband killed her. Police said he had the body in a ditch at the Chak 405-GB graveyard. They said some villagers had informed them about the body. The Tandlianwala SHO said a team had been constituted to trace Ghaffar was missing.
