SUKKUR:

The division bench of the Sindh High Court in Sukkur has ordered the Inspector General Prison to appoint an ignored candidate within a month and submit a report.

Justice Farooq Ali Channa and Justice Azizur- Rehman, while heading the bench, issued the order for the candidate’s appointment on Thursday on a constitutional petition filed by Amanullah Malik through his lawyer Hadi Bax Bhatt.

The petitioner’s lawyer stated before the court that in 2011, the IG prisons announced vacancies for police constables  in his department and the relevant tests were conducted in June 2011 which were topped by Malik.

The lawyer further stated that despite being on top of the list, he was ignored while other candidates were selected and appointed, due to which Malik pleads that he has been deprived of his right, since nepotism was chosen over merit.

Lawyer told the court that the petition was filed in March and today in the DIG prisons’ absence, the jail superintendent central jail-II appeared before the court and stated that, the candidate, Malik had failed to submit his relevant documents which is why he was not appointed. Following this, the court ordered the Sindh Prison IG to appoint the candidate after verification of his documents within one month and submit report.
