‘My husband hired a hitman to kill me’
Petitioner asked the court direct the SHO to register a case against her husband.
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Sabzazar SHO by August 5 on a woman’s petition seeking a case against her husband for allegedly hiring a man to kill her.
Petitioner Abida Perveen submitted that her husband Muhammad Anwar often used to beat her, but she had not left him until one day a relative told her that he had paid someone Rs200,000 to kill her.
She said she had left her husband’s home and gone to a darul aman, or women’s shelter.
A man named Ijaz called her and told her that he would kill her if she left the shelter. Two months later, she went to live with a friend and Ijaz continued to call her and make death threats, she said.
She asked the court direct the SHO to register a case against her husband.
