KARACHI:

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been reportedly given another chance to participate in the Commonwealth Games 2014 with the body being granted another two weeks to send its entry for the event.

According to the Arif Hasan-led Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), the internationally-recognised body was successful in its attempts to keep the doors open for hockey to take part in the event.

This would be the third deadline for the PHF; the previous two (July 23 and July 29) passed without the federation getting in touch with the POA that is affiliated with the International Olympic Committee.

“After speaking to the Commonwealth Games Federation, POA President Hasan received another two weeks for hockey’s submission of expression of interest to participate in the event,” said a POA official.
