No more slacking: Railways to work six days a week
Railways Head Quarter and all Divisional Offices to now open on Saturdays as well.

The new Railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique seems bent on making his mark on the ailing department. In the latest move, he has requested the prime minister to allow the department to side step the notice for government offices to work only five days a week.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the summary submitted by the ministry, allowing the department to work six days in a week, with immediate effect.
According to a press release, The Railways Head Quarter and all Divisional Offices will now remain open on Saturdays.
Rafique said that two holidays in a week were hampering the rapid resuscitation process of Railways and impeding the repair of locomotives.
The minister said that it was important to work six days a week to revive the confidence of the people in the organisation.
