Court orders: Police directed to pay PPS employees arrears
The bench remarked the PHC had ordered the police department to disburse all the employees’ arrears in January.
PESHAWAR:
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday directed the police department to pay the Police Public School (PPS) employees all their arrears by Thursday (tomorrow).
A PHC bench comprising Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Malik Manzoor issued these directions while hearing an application filed by Rena Mehar Nigar.
The bench remarked the PHC had ordered the police department to disburse all the employees’ arrears in January, however, it had failed to do so till now. Legal adviser to police department Shakil Ahmad told the bench the department has been complying with the orders.
“What kind of compliance is this when you have failed to pay the school’s employees?” Justice Miankhel responded. He then directed the police department to clear employees’ dues by Thursday; otherwise the provincial police chief will be summoned.
