Earlier in the day, Sanaullah had said that their opinion about MQM had not changed and that the two parties had "unresolved differences", despite the latter's support for the PML-N's presidential candidate.
"We think of the them in exactly the same way as before," he had said, refuting the claim that the two parties had resolved their differences.
However, after Information Minister and PML-N leader Pervaiz Rashid distanced the party from the statement, the MQM reconciled and reiterated their support for the PML-N presidential candidate.
Rashid said that Sanaullah's statement should have no bearing on the relations between two political parties, particularly in light of the presidential elections.
"What Sanaullah said was different from the standpoint of PML-N."
Rashid said that PML-N views the mandate of MQM "with respect", adding that the people have placed their trust in the party.
The presidential elections for which PML-N have nominated Mamnoon Hussain will take place on Tuesday.
Earlier in the week, Hussain along with federal finance minister Ishaq Dar and information minister Pervaiz Rashid had visited MQM's headquarters in Karachi to secure their votes for the presidential elections.
Justice Wajihuddin is the other candidate who has been nominated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

@A Pakistani: Ha ha ha at you.. not the brightest pakistani for sure..
MQM has always been in favour of strong democracy. What would you say if MQM would have supported PPP or PTI.
What choice does MQM have. They have been pushed in corner in London
Basically they are making us fool ...
"Rashid said that Sanaullah’s statement should have no bearing ..........."
Good cop, bad cop...poor MQM made to taste it's own medicine...
The same old drama like PPP and MQM! Welcome to the new season PMLN and MQM.
and the DRAMA continues. ...
Sana knows that MQM is in a corner and he can throw punches and get away with that. Politics makes strange bedfellows and there is no shame or principles involved. Some parties cannot exist without power at all costs no matter who they cooperate with.
@A Pakistani: That's hilarious. MQM falling prey to PMLN is acceptable!
Beggars can't be choosers. MQM has no choice but to stick to it's new ally. It's treatment after the election will be exactly like PMLN did to PMLQ hum kyal group. But it won't have the leverage to dictate anything.
For the very first time I felt great respect for Rana sahib haha BRAVO!!
@A Pakistani, your comment makes no sense. Sorry
Rana Sanullah is a big mouth guy. He is less of a mature politician and more of a mature blah blah. Now when PML-N is in power and Nawaz Sharif is the PM it is time to say good-bye to this man, who is more a liability than an asset.
@A Pakistani: Interesting conspiracy theory. Should definitely consider writing a book about it ;)
@A Pakistani: "Rana Sanaullah is acting like Zulfiqar Mirza of PPP."
You mean for being honest and telling the truth?
"Picture is worth thousand words." Indeed! And picture above is worth volumes!
MQM was able to fool some of the people some of the times; it thought it can fool everyone all the time. Rana Sahab didn't even leave you with a fig leaf! "Emperor is ...."
Don't MQM have anything else to do expect calling for meeting? Which bare no fruit expect violence?
I support you MQM, but it doesnt matter. PML-N will think the same of you and you will think the same of them. You are both looking at political gains and you know that. Us, commoners will never get to know what khichhree goes on between all you folks. This is the same PML-N with whom you have had a long history of tensions, with the former having started a military operation against you and then backing out. You sided with them again in 1997, only to be back-stabbed once more. And now that you have learnt politics, that history does not matter.
MQM is a mature party. It should not fall prey to the conspiracies of PTI on social media and PPP on electronic media. A very large majority of Pakistanis have already rejected the divide & rule policies of PPPPTI.
good rana sana ullah
Rana Sanaullah is acting like Zulfiqar Mirza of PPP.
